Interpreting the results of your DNA test.

The focus will be on the services offered by Ancestry.com, FTDNA, MyHeritage, and 23andMe. One will gain an understanding of how these companies produce and present your ethnic origins and what that means for your research. This will be followed by a discussion of your matches: what does that mean and how were these numbers computed. Finally, the day will close with tips on how to use your matches to further your genealogical research and break down those brick walls.  Presented by Jason Felihkatubbe.

Jason Felihkatubbe (Choctaw) has been doing genealogical research for nearly 30 years. Though he specializes in Native American genealogy and research, he offers classes and lectures on an array of topics including beginning genealogy, internet genealogy, and genetic genealogy. A member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, he currently serves as the chair of the Education Committee for the Wichita Genealogical Society (WGS), the Editor of the Ark Valley Crossroads, the official publication of WGS, and leads the DNA, Tech, and Native American Ancestry and Research Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in addition to volunteering for MyHeritage, Find-A-Grave, and the USGenWeb Project.
