Annual Conference – Saturday, October 11, 2025
We’re delighted to welcome Peggy Clemens Lauritzen, AG, FOGS, as our featured speaker for this year’s conference!
Genealogy is quite literally in Peggy’s blood—she likes to say she was doing family history before she was even born, as her mother was off on a cemetery research trip just four days before Peggy made her entrance into the world.
As a second-generation genealogist, Peggy’s childhood adventures were less about playgrounds and more about poring over courthouse records and walking old cemeteries. That early passion blossomed into a distinguished career, earning her the designation of Accredited Genealogist® with specialties in Southern U.S. and Appalachian research, including Kentucky, Virginia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and parts of Pennsylvania.
Known for her warmth, wit, and knack for storytelling, Peggy brings history to life in every presentation. She’s a popular instructor for Ancestry Academy, a contributor to Reminisce magazine, and a frequent speaker at genealogy societies and conferences nationwide.
Whether you’re just beginning your research or deep into your ancestral quest, Peggy’s heartfelt and humorous approach will leave you both informed and inspired. Get ready to laugh, learn, and love the stories of the past.
**A special offer for all members of a Kansas or Oklahoma Genealogy Society – Register as a society member – SAVE $10. We have extended society member pricing to members of any Kansas or Oklahoma Genealogical Society. WGS knows that many organizations, both local and national, have regrettably discontinued their conferences. The Wichita Genealogical Society is fortunate to sustain our great conferences with nationally recognized presenters. When registering (online or mail-in form) select member option and then include the name of your society.

One of the best features of the Hughes Metropolitan Complex is the location — and being just a mile north of the main Wichita State University Campus is only a small part of that. Close proximity and quick access to K-96, I-35 and I-135 makes getting to and from the venue a pain-free experience.

One of the most popular feature of the Hughes Metropolitan Complex is the parking. It’s right next to the building — and it’s free. There are 1,100 parking spaces. No steps. No elevators. It doesn’t get much easier. As part of the WSU system, the Metroplex is a first-class venue. Location and Map
